How to quickly snap yourself out of negative thoughts?

There are bad and good days. Sometimes just a sentence or look from someone can bring you down for hours. So what is the quick remedy for it? Snap yourself out, it is easier said than done. In any event where you find your mind going down the negative track there are few tips to follow and just snap out of the situation.

  • Accept the surroundingsyou are in. This moment is what it is and no way could it have been better than this. Find a single positive thing in that moment and stick with that positive thought.
  • Live in the moment. Every moment and situation is unique despite numerous trials you can never replicate any moment. Just submerge yourself completely and let it be.
  • Let it go. Doesn’t imply to avoid but yes you can just let negative thoughts and people not to influence you deeply. Sometimes you do not have to drift with the wave of negative thoughts; just clinging on to one positive thought is good enough.
  • Go for some physical exercise: when negativity is splitting your mind apart. It is best to engage in some sort of physical activity like swimming, running, yoga or best would be meditation.
  • Contact the one you love: in such times calling up your family and friends gives respite. It changes the mood and sometimes let that steam out of your mind. All negativity can be easily removed by just talking to the one most closer to you.
  • Reading, chatting or writing: reading inspirational and motivational quotes or a book will distract your mind from negative thoughts. Online chatting with your friend, colleague or parents is another way. Write down the way you feel and the person responsible and make a checklist of things you can do to come over these thoughts.
  • Cleanup the place: Yes it helps a lot. Start cleaning up your room, kitchen, wardrobe or books. These stacks of pending work will shift your mood and at the end of it you will get a sense of achievement over the job done and your mood.
  • Listen to music or dance: nothing beats a good sound of music. It is known to be the biggest healer of all times. A good music will lift up your mood and bring you back to the lighter form. Avoid serious stuff which can further take you down to the same stumbling block. Dance your way out through the negativity and burn some calories, sweat out the negative chemical burning in your mind.
